Habitat: Caves and cliffs in the mountains and along the sea, but increasingly bridges, road overpasses and buildings under construction.

Appearance: In Europe, a summer visitor, expanding its range northwards. Rare in Belgium and the Netherlands – pass-through.

Breeding season: April to September, nests are built in 1 to 2 weeks under a horizontal surface, in various locations such as cliffs, cave entrances, etc., 2 to 3 eggs.

Characteristics: Length 14 – 19 cm, wingspan 27 – 32 cm, weight 22 grams, age not mentioned in available sources.

Food: Insects, which are caught in flight.
