Habitat: This species can be found in all kinds of places.

Appearance: A common moth in Europe. Fairly common throughout Belgium and the Netherlands.

Flying time: April – October in three generations.

Characteristics: Wingspan 32 – 38 mm.

Life cycle: Host plants are various herbaceous plants, such as Stinging nettles (Urtica), Nettle (Lamium), Mayweed (Matricaria) and Common Wormwood (Artemisia absinthium). The females lay their white, hemispherical eggs on the upper side of the leaves of the host plant. The species overwinters as a caterpillar in the litter layer.
