Habitat: Wide, sunny forest edges, rugged mountains and herb-rich, nutrient-poor grasslands.

Appearance: From northern Portugal and Spain, the Sickle-bearing Bush-cricket is widespread in Europe. The species does not occur in large parts of Italy and Greece. It is currently absent from England and Scandinavia. Fairly common in Belgium and the Netherlands.

Activity: From July to November.

Characteristics: Length ♂︎ 12 – 17 mm, length ♀︎ 15 – 18 mm.

Food: It feeds on herbaceous plants, grasses and flowers.
