Habitat: Warm, dry erosion gullies. Sandy, stony floodplains of rivers with mostly sparse vegetation.

Appearance: Very localised and scarce, mainly in Mediterranean coastal regions. Very rare in Portugal, with scattered populations in Spain from the southern coast to Soria and Zaragoza.

Flying time: Late April to October (two or three generations depending on location).

Characteristics: Wingspan 28-34 mm.

Life cycle: Host plants are various grass species from the grass family (Poaceae).
