Habitat: Various open areas, such as chalk grasslands, wet grasslands and wet heathlands; also gardens, open woodlands, Lucerne fields and abandoned or neglected urban areas.

Appearance: The Latticed Heath is a widespread and common moth in Europe. This species occurs throughout almost all of Europe. It is very common in Belgium and the Netherlands, occurring throughout the country but generally in low numbers in Belgium.

Flying time: Two generations. Mid-April to early September.

Characteristics: Wingspan 26-32 mm.

Life cycle: Host plants are clovers (Trifolium) and Lucerne (Medicago sativa). The species overwinters as a pupa in the ground. The moths drink nectar from various flowers.
