Habitat: Heathland with dense scrub, maquis or garrigue.

Appearance: Resident in south-western and central Europe to south-western Great Britain.

Breeding season: April to mid-June, usually nesting in heathland, impenetrable thorn bushes, tamarisk, holm oak and similar, 3-5 eggs.

Characteristics: Length 12.5 cm, wingspan 15 – 18 cm, weight 9 – 12 grams, age no data found.

Food: As with all warblers, insects, supplemented with berries.
